Jordan Fineman has completed two years of college. Beyond this, very little is clear. He decides to travel to Alaska for a summer of work and adventure, not entirely clear whether or not he will return to school at all. By the following fall, he finds himself an experienced cannery worker and close associate to a community of world travelers. All the while mental illness was setting in. Looking back from a point of good health, It was a summer to remember. All is recounted in a humorous, first-person voice.
